Octopoid Star Nation
Giant octopus-like beings who pilot starships and sit in galactic councils
In the Q&A of a 2026-10-17 livestream Ismael Perez said octopuses come from another planet in another solar system, and that elsewhere in the galaxy advanced civilizations of giant octopus-like beings pilot spacecraft, speak their own language, build large structures and irrigation, walk on land and hold councils with other species. He said they are, for the most part, benevolent, and far more advanced than the octopuses of Earth's seas.
Also called: Space octopuses, Octopus-like star travelers, Cephalopod people.

If you met one…
A wide hatch opens and a great, soft-bodied being flows forward on curling arms, its skin rippling through calm colours. Its large, intelligent eye fixes on you, and a pattern of gentle blues spreads across it like a smile.
What they look like
Giant octopus-like beings, per Ismael Perez, able to walk on land; he joked that their bodies look alarming to human eyes.
Their gifts
Starship piloting, engineering and irrigation.
Their bond with Earth
Ismael Perez says Earth's octopuses descend from extraterrestrial stock, as part of the planet's role as a library of genetics from across the universe.
