Vegans
One of the first Lyran-descended civilizations, gathered around the bright star Vega
The A–Z encyclopedia's sources describe the Vegans as one of the earliest civilizations descended from the Lyrans, living around Vega, the brilliant star of the Lyra constellation about 25 light-years away. Classic contactee accounts remember them as kindly and culturally refined, and several sources say many humanoids of Orion's Belt carry Vegan ancestry. Ismael Perez folds Vega's worlds into the greater Lyran homeland rather than describing them separately.
Also called: People of Vega, Vegan Lyrans.

If you met one…
The encyclopedia's sources picture tall humanoids, some with a soft green or blue tint to their skin. Meeting one might feel like being welcomed by a gracious cousin from the oldest branch of the family: cultured, curious and kind.
What they look like
Tall humanoids with a range of looks; the encyclopedia notes that some lineages have greenish or bluish skin.
Their gifts
Remembered in contactee literature for cultural sophistication, and for passing their lineage on to other star peoples, especially in Orion's Belt.
Their bond with Earth
Not described in detail; the sources mainly place them in the ancestral chain linking Lyra to Orion's Belt and Aldebaran.
What each source says
Ismael Perez does not profile the Vegans as a separate people; he speaks of Lyra together with its Vega-associated worlds as the progenitor center of galactic humanoids.
Ismael Perez said that when Earth existed as the eighth-dimensional planet Avyon it orbited the star Vega, and he framed the original war between Republic and Empire as a clash between the Lyrans of the Vega system and the reptilians of the Draco star system.
The encyclopedia lists the Vegans as one of the original Lyran-descended civilizations, generally portrayed as benevolent in classic contact literature. Drawing on Pavel Khailov and Vashta, it says the Orion Belt stars Mintaka, Alnilam and Alnitak host peoples of Vegan descent, often green- or blue-skinned, who stood with the 'Forces of Light' during the Orion wars. It also traces the Aldebaran lineage back to Vega and Lyra.
